SideBet ("we", "us") runs the SideBet website and mobile apps at sidebet.club. Questions about this policy: privacy@sidebet.club.

Account stuff you give us: name, email, and a password (stored hashed) or Google sign-in details if you use that. Profile image if you add one. Pool activity: pool memberships, markets you create or trade on, positions, trades, play-money balances, SideCoin activity, and notifications. Session details like IP address and device/browser info when you're signed in. If you reset your password, we process that email so we can send the reset link.

We use this info to run SideBet — accounts, pools, markets, leaderboards, invites, and notifications. We also use it to keep the product working (security, abuse prevention, debugging), improve the experience, and send essential account emails like password resets. Play money and SideCoin are fantasy currency only; we do not process real-money payments.

We use PostHog for product analytics (for example, signed-in usage events). When you're signed in, we may associate analytics with your user id, name, and email so we can understand how SideBet is used. We use Sentry on the live app to catch crashes and errors so we can fix bugs. You can ask us to stop identifying your analytics events by emailing privacy@sidebet.club.

We use a session cookie (or equivalent token storage on mobile) so you stay logged in. That's required for the app to work. We don't run third-party advertising cookies.

We don't sell your personal info. We share data with service providers that help us run SideBet: Cloudflare (hosting and database), PostHog (analytics), Sentry (error monitoring), Google (if you sign in with Google), and our email delivery provider for account emails. They only get what they need to do that job.

SideBet is built for group chats. Pool members can see your display name, trades, positions, and leaderboard standing in pools you join. Lowkey markets stay hidden from the tagged subject until they're settled — then the reveal can show who bet what. Don't put secrets in pool names or market questions you wouldn't want the room to see.

We keep your account and pool activity while your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we'll delete or anonymize personal data we don't need to keep for security, fraud prevention, or legal reasons. Backups and logs may take a bit longer to fully clear.

You can update account details in the app, sign out anytime, and email privacy@sidebet.club to request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law (like GDPR or CCPA). We'll do our best to honor those requests.

SideBet isn't aimed at kids under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age where you live). If you think a child gave us personal info, email privacy@sidebet.club and we'll take it down.

We host SideBet on Cloudflare's global network and use US-based tools like PostHog and Sentry. If you use SideBet from outside the United States, your info may be processed in the US or other countries where our providers operate.

If we update this policy, we'll change the effective date at the top of this page. Keep using SideBet after a change means you're cool with the updated policy. Big changes get a clearer heads-up when we can.

This Privacy Policy applies to personal information processed in connection with your access to and use of the Service, including account registration, authentication, pool participation, communications, and related support.

Depending on how you use the Service, we may process the following categories of personal information: • Account identifiers and profile data, such as name, email address, authentication credentials (passwords are stored in hashed form), profile image, and third-party authentication identifiers (for example, Google sign-in). • Service activity data, such as pool memberships and roles, markets created or traded, positions, trades, play-money balances, SideCoin balances and awards, notifications, and related timestamps. • Technical and session data, such as IP address, user agent, device or browser information, and session tokens or cookies necessary to maintain authentication. • Communications data, such as password-reset emails and related delivery metadata. • Analytics and diagnostics data, such as product usage events and error reports.

We collect personal information directly from you, automatically from your device when you use the Service, from authentication providers you choose (such as Google), and from our service providers that process data on our behalf.

We process personal information to: • Provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Service; • Create and manage accounts, authenticate users, and secure the Service; • Enable pool features, markets, leaderboards, invites, notifications, and related gameplay; • Send transactional and account-related communications (including password resets); • Monitor performance, diagnose errors, prevent abuse and fraud, and enforce our Terms of Service; • Comply with applicable law and respond to lawful requests; • Analyze product usage to understand and improve SideBet. SideBet uses play money and SideCoin solely as fantasy currency within the Service. We do not process real-money payments or wagering.

Where required by applicable law (including the GDPR), we process personal information on one or more of the following bases: performance of a contract with you; our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Service; compliance with legal obligations; and consent where we request it and you provide it.

We use session cookies and similar technologies as needed to authenticate you and keep you signed in. On mobile applications, equivalent token storage may be used for the same purpose. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

We do not sell personal information. We may disclose personal information to: • Service providers that process data on our behalf, including Cloudflare (hosting and database infrastructure), PostHog (product analytics), Sentry (error monitoring), Google (if you authenticate with Google), and email delivery providers for account communications; • Other users in pools you join, to the extent features of the Service make information visible (for example, display name, trades, positions, and leaderboard standing; lowkey markets may later reveal related activity to a tagged subject upon settlement); • Professional advisers, authorities, or other parties when required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety, or the Service; • A successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.

We host the Service using Cloudflare's global network and use providers that may process data in the United States and other countries. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions that may have different data-protection laws than your own. Where required, we take steps designed to protect personal information in accordance with applicable law.

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service and for legitimate business purposes, including security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and legal compliance. If you request deletion of your account, we will delete or de-identify personal information that we are not required or permitted to retain. Residual copies in backups or logs may persist for a limited period until overwritten in the ordinary course.

Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal information, to object to certain processing, to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. You may update certain account information in the Service, sign out at any time, and submit privacy requests to privacy@sidebet.club. We will respond in accordance with applicable law. Residents of certain jurisdictions (including under GDPR and CCPA/CPRA) may have additional rights; we will not discriminate against you for exercising rights available under applicable law.

The Service is not directed to children under 13 years of age (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. If you believe we have collected such information, contact privacy@sidebet.club and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

We implement administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the effective date above when changes are posted. Your continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acknowledgment of the revised Privacy Policy. Where required by law or for material changes, we will provide additional notice.
